Commerce Elementary School Halloween Fun!! :)

I love to speak to students about Best Bones Forever!! I was invited to speak at Commerce Elementary school on October 31st (Halloween) to an excited class of third grade students! I donned my skelegirl costume and began by reading a fun book about bones called 'Rotten Teeth' (yes teeth are bone!!) I also shared with them how I was injured at 15 yrs old and learned that I have scoliosis of the back and how I became involved with the National Osteoporosis Foundation because of that injury. I also was able to distrbute a goodie bag of information about bone health to each student, the teacher, and attending guests (parents, grandparents, etc.) This class was very well behaved and had plenty of questions for me about osteoporosis and how to take better care of themselves! After my session, the class celebrated with a class party to celebrate Halloween and I was asked to sign autographs for them in their new bone journals!! I was honored to share this time with them and hope they feel educated about the importance of bone health!! :)

Fall Forum 2011!!!

We had met earlier in the lobby and we were rehashing that memory! She said "I remember you!"

It was a true honor to have met Miss America! What an inspiration!!
                                                    Mycala and me!! <3
Saturday, October 29th my mom and I drove, in the early hours of the morning, over to Muskegon to attend the Fall Forum! It was a very fun day to see all my MAO sisters and pageant family! Our special guests included 3 Miss America's - our reigning MA Thersa Scanlon, Pam Eldred, and our very own Kaye Lani Rae Rafko!!
We were enterained with touching, and very funny stories from Elizabeth Wertenberger (our lovely Miss Michigan) and Marissa Cowens (our adorable Miss Michigan's Outstanding Teen) as they shared their wonderful adventures as our state's reigning queens! We also got a sneak peek at the gorgeous wardrobe Elizabeth will be wearing in Las Vegas as she takes to the Miss America stage in January 2012!
Last June when I competed at Miss Michigan my little princess was Mycala Prew. In the afternoon  I had the pleasure of watching her compete for the title of Little Miss Michigan! She wowed the crowd with her talent song "Mean" by Taylor Swift and everyone in the audience was clapping along to the beat!! She is amazing and I am so glad she was my princess this summer! We sat together during the dinner and wardrobe showing and we chatted up a storm!!

Lake Orion Halloween Fun!!

So cute!!
I must say, that was a pretty cool moment!
Educating our elderly about bone health!!

Once again, partnering with Genysis Credit Union, I attending the Lake Orion Halloween parade that Genysis sponsored! My job was to greet the residents and have a photo oppportunity at a booth set up just for us! It was very warm and sunny day - just perfect for a parade and sharing family time within a wonderful community!
I also took the opportunity to promote 'Best Bones Forever,' the Miss America Organization, and the Chidren's Miracle Network Hospitals - three tremendous organizations that are near and dear to my heart!!

Halloween Hoopla!! The BIG Event!! :)

Throwing tattoos down to the tattoo artists and the package exploded when she caught it!
I'm excited to see the Special Olympics start their partnership to get education out to the athletes!!

My Bone twin!

This girl is a total rock star!! She was pumped to see the little goodie bag I gave her!

So cute!

On October 21st, 2011 I had the honor to participate in the Halloween Hoopla!! I was partnering with the Genysis Credit Union at the very beginning of the trick or treat trail! I had 550 goodie bags pre-made from home filled with tattoos, magnets with nutritional info, playing cards with bone health facts on the back of each card, and the famous journal filled with stickers, recipies, and healthy tips!! We had over 700 people join us at the event!! It was a BLAST!! This was the largest event I have attended to promote my platform 'Best Bones Forever' and it was an awesome responsibility to share with as many people as I could about the importance of bone health!
